Bristlecone Private Wealthat Prudential
The Firm

We couldn't find this firm. So we built it.

Wealth advice in this country is sold in pieces. We assembled three established practices so the specialist your family needs is already at the table.

Wealth advice in this country is sold in pieces. An investment manager here, an insurance agent there, a planner across town, a CPA nobody talks to. The client ends up as the coordinator, and things slip through the seams at exactly the wrong moments: the sale of a business, a concentrated stock position, a death in the family.

The three of us ran into that wall from different directions, and none of us runs a one-lane practice. Barbara Heaton has advised families across planning, insurance, and estate strategy since 1987, with five straight years of Forbes Best-in-State honors. JP Heaton and Colin Haueter built full planning and insurance practices in Boise. Wide practices, distinct strengths, and one shared frustration: when a client needed everything at once, no single firm could deliver the whole answer.

So we combined ours, on purpose. Three established practices assembled so the specialist your family needs is already at the table: the family office experience, without the nine-figure minimum. Bristlecone is new. What is inside it is not.

The name is the standard

Bristlecone pines grow where almost nothing else will: thin rocky soil, relentless wind, altitude that kills lesser trees. The wood they add is dense enough to turn away insects, disease, and storm, and the oldest of them have been alive for nearly five thousand years. That is the model we want for a family's wealth.

A bristlecone endures by knowing what to let go of. It will surrender whole limbs to drought and hold a single narrow strip of living tissue between root and crown, alive through fire, ice, and a thousand hard winters. Endurance is not luck. It is a sequence of deliberate decisions.

People first. Then the plan.

Software can rebalance a portfolio. It cannot sit with you after a diagnosis, the sale of a business, or the loss of a parent. We build plans around real conversations, because the numbers only matter in the context of a life.

  • We start by listening: goals, worries, and the questions you have not said out loud yet
  • Education before recommendations, so every decision is one you understand
  • Cash flow and risk reviewed first, because a plan is only as strong as its foundation
  • One coordinated team across investments, insurance, tax, real estate, and credit

Giving back is part of the plan

Charitable work is a founding standard here, not an afterthought. Across our offices, our team donates more than two thousand hours a year to local schools, churches, nonprofits, and community organizations, because the communities that trust us with their futures deserve our time, not just our advice.

One conversation is enough to know whether we can help.

No charge, no obligation, and no pitch.
